Background and History

Business Books South West was started in 2012 when the business owner, Mark Jennings, saw a need for a business that could help out other small businesses with the parts of their businesses that owners often struggled with - accounting and bookkeeping. As a qualified Accountant, Mark had seen a number of Mum and Dad business owners who put great energy into the parts of the business they loved, such as being a tradesman, but had little experience with the paperwork side of the business, let alone the enthusiasm to try and tackle the task themselves.

Since then, Business Books South West has been able to assist various businesses and not-for-profit organisations with various aspects of their work, from the day-to-day bookkeeping to setting up efficient systems and structures, evaluation of business systems and assistance with business advice.

Business Owner Mark Jennings is a Bunbury born and bred local who has been and is currently involved in many community groups and organisations as well as business networks. Having grown up and been in Bunbury all his life, Mark has many contacts through business and personal pursuits that he calls upon to help out clients.

 

Outside of work Mark is a senior level hockey umpire for the Bunbury Association, is actively involved in the Catholic Church and is currently a board member of Investing In Our Youth. All of these roles add to the skill set that is used when dealing with clients and various client situations.

 

Mark's interests include music, guitar, reading, and getting out and meeting new people and having new life experiences.

Administration Manager Carien Lee is the most recent staff member on the Business Books South West team, having started in November 2019. Her background is quite diverse, being in photography, travel, retail. cleaning, bookkeeping and administration.

Within Business Books South West Carien's role is handling the business admin and some of the client work and keeping Mark on his toes!!
